Round 1
Phoebe
Phoebe's pretty sure she's got this. She's going to use a Power Suit ability to freeze the blob solid. This is interpreted as "instant death", so it's a Cost 3. She says "fuck it" and goes for broke, rolling 10+3=13. This complete success has the potential to freeze the monster solid.
The Blob uses Absorb to attempt to mitigate the damage. He's too dumb to do anything but Risk 3, which he does, rolling 11+3=14. Phoebe's massive energy blast just gets sucked into the Blob--rather than harming it, if anything, it seemed to get a little stronger (it didn't, really, because that would require some sort of failure on Phoebe's part).
Blob
The Blob retaliates, using Lightning to zap Phoebe. It's too dumb to do anything fancy, so it's just going to Risk 2 to get a solid hit in, rolling 6+2=8. Mixed Success! Diminished effect, as it wasn't aimed well.
Phoebe uses Mobility to attempt to avoid the attack, rolling 7+2=9, Mixed Success. She avoids the attack, but only by getting out of position to defend Zelena. Should she attempt to Help Out Zelena in the next round, it will be at a disadvantage.
Since the attack was avoided, no damage is dealt.
Aeon
Aeon slashes the monster with his Void Blade, rolling 6+3=9 on Melee. He will hit, but the Blob will be able to maneuver him where he wants him.
The Blob counterattacks with Poison: that is, getting close to him puts Aeon at risk of inhaling poisonous spores. However, he rolls 4+2=6, totally failing. The GM interprets this as Aeon's cyborg body is able to filter out the spores at will, meaning he is totally immune to this attack now and in the future.
Aeon's void sword does 3 damage, but the Blob's armor mitigates that by 1, for 2 hits. He's got 3 left.
Blob (action 2)
The Blob wants his hits back. He uses Absorb to suck out Aeon's life force. Since he needs 2 hits, he risks 2, and rolls 9+3=12, complete success.
Aeon defends himself with Void, attempting to parry the blow with the help of void energy, which can annihilate any physical matter or energy (including the blob's pseudopod). He is mindful of the risk, and can spare a hit, so he only risks 1, rolling 4+2=6, total failure.
The GM decides that Aeon's void energy, while useful for its intended purposes, was simply not powerful enough to stop the attack. Instead, the Blob absorbs the Void, in addition to 2 hits from Aeon (reduced by 1 for armor).
Zelena
She can see that the Blob has some Void energy which he's probably going to use against the party, but she also reasons that it's too slow for her to bother focusing entirely on countering it (i.e. it's out of actions, so any such attack comes next round, when she has a fresh action of her own).
Thus, she's going to blast the motherfucker with Light. 3 hits would kill it, but it has too much armor for that, so she risks only 2, rolling 5+3=8.
The Blob is going to use Absorb to defend itself (natch), risking 2 to mitigate it entirely, rolling 6+3=9.
The GM determines that Zelena's attack was a little light on power, to avoid hurting Aeon, so it did less damage. The Blob's defense was successful, and mitigates 2 (more than enough), but at the cost of concentrating on the Void power, which it then loses.
Round 2
Aeon
Aeon wants to take another swing, but he also wants to get out of Zelena's way, so he's hoping for a good roll. He rolls 8+3=11, complete success! His chosen perk is to establish an advantageous position (in this case, no longer interfering with Zelena's attacks).
Blob uses Lightning to defend itself, threatening to zap Aeon's metal sword on contact. He risks 2, and rolls 6+2=8, mixed success.
The GM rules that the Lightning attack was less powerful than intended--Aeon suffers only 1 damage (mitigated to 0 by Armor). Meanwhile, Aeon's attack is a rousing success, inflicting 3 damage (mitigated to 2).
Blob
The Blob, seeing that Poison and Lightning are of little use, threatens to Absorb Aeon, rolling over him. This effect will risk 2--it isn't going to hurt much, but will immobilize him and limit his options pretty significantly. He rolls 10+3=13, easily succeeding.
Aeon's going to use Mobility to escape, rolling 10+2=12, easily succeeding. The slow Blob represents a clear threat, but just can't keep up with Aeon's flippiness.
Zelena
Kaboom! Light blast, 4+3=7, uh oh...
